2pm May 13 Luku Gnarra-the Law of the Land. A screening of award-winning documentary of the life of Rev Dr D Gondarra, senior Yolnu Lawman and Uniting Islander and Christian Congress minister.
2pm May 20 ‘ The New Boy’
A screening of award winning director Warwick Thornton’s film depicting the story of a 9 year old orphan boy (Aswan Reid) who arrives in the dead of night at a remote mission run by a renegade nun (Cate Blanchett).
2pm May 27 -‘Murriyang – a song of time’
A conversation about former journalist Stan Grant’s latest reflection on his personal journey in the wider context of Australian history and global challenges, which is both lament and an affirmation of where healing can be found after a time of rupture and trauma.
There will be a time of conversation after the screening of the documentary and the film, and notes about Murriyang (which is available in local bookshops) can be sent to those who ask for them prior to May 27.
Suggested donation for each session of $5 pp to cover overheads and to enable a small donation to the Rev D Gondarra Truth Telling Foundation.
