In response to an invitation from Jessica Morthorpe, Climate Change Engagement Officer with the City of Greater Bendigo, the Bendigo Interfaith Council (BIC) has a statement, to be presented at the Climate Summit on Saturday, May 27. The Summit will include a Climate Justice and Interfaith Panel and there will be an opportunity for faith representatives to be part of the signing ceremony on stage at the Ulumbarra Theatre. We are inviting faith groups throughout Bendigo to join us in endorsing the statement and, if possible, to be represented at the Summit. The statement may be signed on behalf of a group or by individuals. Please see statement attached to the email and on notice board If you are willing to endorse the statement, there are a couple of ways to respond. Let Jessica Morthorpe know and attend the Greater Bendigo Climate Summit on May 27 (free).  Jessica will then invite key leaders who have said they’re happy to sign to be part of the signing ceremony on the Ulumbarra Theatre Stage during the Climate Justice and Interfaith Panel Session. The Statement will be read out and representatives can affix their signature. Afterwards it will be open for anyone else who would like to, to sign.  If you are unable to attend the Summit, but are willing to sign the Statement, please do so and send the signed Statement to Jessica, preferably in advance of the Summit, when your support can be acknowledged.  Jessica can be contacted at  j.morthorpe@Bendigo.vic.gov.au
